The public won’t get to speak anymore at Fredonia village government meetings, if Mayor Michael Ferguson has his way.
Ferguson told the Board of Trustees he would ask them to suspend or eliminate the public comment portion of meetings, citing speakers who run past the three-minute limit and the ongoing fight over the village reservoir. Trustees took no action. The Open Meetings Law does not require a public comment period, which is exactly why a board can switch one off.
