An Open Meetings Law violation is only worth as much as someone’s willingness to pay to prove it. Marissa Mims, the longest-serving member of the Fayetteville-Manlius school board, concluded the board had interviewed superintendent candidates in secret with a quorum present and no public notice. She dropped the idea of suing when she learned the price.
