FOI Fest 2026 marked twenty-one years of the UK’s Freedom of Information Act. The programme ran from keynotes and panels through lightning talks by journalists and activists to practical sessions on investigative technique, and on what artificial intelligence and privatisation are doing to the right of access. Organised by the FOI Network with the Birkbeck Centre for British Political Life, the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust and eCase.
New York’s own records law is explained on our Freedom of Information Law page.
