Governor Hochul promised “New Era of Transparency,”
but NYS agencies neglect to use key features of $650k/year software
The FOIL software in question is GovQA, and Reinvent Albany went through all 72 state agencies to see which of its public-facing features are switched on. Most are not. The tools that would let someone see what has already been released, or track a request without emailing anyone, are sitting there unused.
