A FOIL request about FOIL requests

reinvent-albany-foil-logs

Reinvent Albany is doing a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request to all New York State executive agencies seeking records of FOIL requests submitted or closed during calendar year 2025.

The FOIL logs they and the Cornell Law School First Amendment Clinic asked for cover all 72 executive agencies: who asked, when it came in, what the agency did with it, and which exemption it cited when the answer was no. The agencies already run GovQA, which exports that data without anyone having to create a new record.
