California is implementing changes in their Open Meetings Law, which would be great to have in NY.
California Open Meetings Law changes took effect July 1 under SB 707. A livestream is no longer enough: covered bodies have to provide a two-way phone or video option so people can actually take part. Agencies also need a policy for what happens when the connection fails, translated agendas where roughly a fifth of the community has limited English, and a real meetings page with a calendar.
