Lockport’s Common Council holds its work sessions in a back conference room rather than the council chambers. The mayor said he prefers to talk face to face around the table. The Open Meetings Law requires a meeting room large enough to accommodate the people who want to attend, and accessible public meetings are a statutory obligation, not a courtesy.
