Town clerk: Riverhead will return to taking verbatim minutes of Town Board meetings

Earlier this year, the town of Riverhead, NY, on Long Island eliminated its long-standing practice of producing verbatim meeting minutes, citing the $20,000 annual cost of paying for transcripts.

However, the town is now bringing back verbatim transcripts by utilizing artificial intelligence through a new online platform for managing meeting agendas and minutes.
